My 2016 Morning Routine
5:00:00 AMHi guys! Today I'm going to share my morning routine with you, and I am beyond excited! Now, brace yourselves- it's probably not too much like that of most people.
To start off, I get up at 4:00AM every weekday. I wake up a bit later on the weekend, around 6:00-6:30 typically, but my weekday routine is far more scheduled.
So as soon as I get out of bed, I walk to where I keep my liter of water and drink anywhere from 1/4 to 1/2 of it. During the winter months, I turn more toward tea though as it's something warm I can look forward to when I get up. I always stress the importance of drinking as soon as you wake up; not only will you be more alert and less prone to head back to bed, you'll feel refreshed!
After drinking I lay out my mat to stretch and do a bit of yoga. This takes up anywhere from 15 to 25 minutes, and I typically bike for another 20 minutes after that. After I've warmed up I take some time for mindfulness and meditation- this time also really depends on how I'm feeling that day but I think its a vital part of my mornings.
When 5:00AM rolls around I make my breakfast. This consists of either a shake or some toast- I'm not really hungry so early in the morning so I enjoy something light and consistent.
After eating, I'll go for a walk (usually with my dog Boo) and then leave around 6:20AM for classes.
